Awesome things are happening at BASi, not the least of which is the return of our founder, Peter T. Kissinger, as a Scientific Advisor to the company. And what better way to launch our new blog, BASiBroadcast, than a Q&A session with Pete about his thoughts on the ever-evolving pharmaceutical industry and being back at BASi during this exciting time.

It’s always nice to be recognized for your achievements. It’s even better when your passion and commitment are the driving forces behind your success, and any accolades are truly just a bonus. For BASi founder and scientific advisor, Pete Kissinger, a long and varied career in science and research has always been rooted in the pursuit of better bioanalytical data for better decisions and ultimately, better patient care.

Since reengaging with BASi in 2017, I've seen positive trends that matter for 2018. We've had four consecutive quarters with positive earnings after a rough decade with both a slowly recovering economy and ongoing restructuring of the biopharma industry. Investing in growth is a priority. It is well recognized that life science innovation is very healthy, with new initiatives taking hold in editing out genetic abnormalities and marshaling the immune system to help root out a variety of cancers. The FDA approved many new therapies in 2017 and now promises to ease the way to more.
