Electrochemical Principles Fundamentals are presented in a non-mathematical fashion and illustrated with multiple examples. Topics include basic electrical circuits, electrochemical fundamentals, thermodynamics, electron transfer kinetics, and mass transport. Cells and Electrodes This discussion covers cell design for voltammetry, laboratory-scale electrosynthesis, and flow cell applications. Working electrode geometry and material, reference electrode selection, and auxiliary electrodes are discussed.
Electrochemical Instrumentation and Electronics
During this session, the basic circuits used in the instruments are discussed, including limitations which may affect experimental design.
The theory and applications of common techniques are presented. These include cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, controlled potential electrolysis, square wave voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry and polarography.
