Update to Clients Regarding Supply Chain Impacts of the Pandemic

Our team at BASi Research Products and our partners at Inotiv are monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and reviewing our business processes on a regular basis. The current situation continues to have impacts on our business, and we want to be as transparent as possible about how that will affect our customers. Our production is fully operational.  This is true for both the products and the contract research services components of our business.

However, BASi Research Products is being impacted by global supply chain issues, as well as travel restrictions resulting from the pandemic.

Global Supply Chain

While domestic and international factories and suppliers have reopened, we are starting to experience aftermath in the form of material shortages. These shortages may result in:

  • Longer lead times for delivery of orders- unfortunately, shortages are not under our contol, but we will provide notification as soon as possible when lead times change.
    • Please understand that at this time we are unable to provide lead times on quotes. Lead times will be provided upon order confirmation only (when a Purchase Order is issued). If you have a specific timeline required for your order, please inform your representative as soon as possible and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate your request.
    • If you are planning to submit a large volume consumable or instrument order, we ask that you contact our Client Services Team at basi@basinc.com to obtain an accurate lead time.
    • If you would like to set up a scheduled order/blanket order for consumable items, we can help. This approach can help us plan better to make sure the supplies are available when you need them. Contact the Client Services Team at basi@basinc.com to start this process.
    • If you have an existing order and would like to check your order status, please click here.
  • Temporarily discontinued products- we will add products in again as soon as they become avaible and we'll do our best to find alternatives
  • Pricing changes- please note that we will honor all existing, unexpired quotations. As of July 1st, 2022, many of our prices were updated to reflect the rising costs of materials and labor.
  • Alternative offerings- we may offer you an alternative product to help fulfill your order, such as a refurbished instrument if a new component is unavailable
  • Material exchanges- we may change individual components or pieces for a different material, but only after thorough assessment and/or testing to ensure that it does not impact product performance. This can include components of the product as well as packaging components.

We remain committed to providing high-quality research products, at a reasonable price and on a reasonable timeline. We will continue to address these issues as quickly and thoroughly as possible when they arise. We are asking our customers to continue to communicate with our Client Services and Sales Team when designing your study.  The more clarity we have of your study design and timeline, the better prepared we can be.

Travel Restrictions

US Travel- Travel has opened in the US, we are reaching out to set up service visits. We will work with each company to determine a timeline and a plan that focuses on safety and well-being of our staff and of the site we are visiting. Please note that many flights are being delayed or cancelled and we will work with you to find a mutually agreeable solution.

International Travel- Travel is still restricted in some locations. We will follow guidance from US governmental authorities for travel recommendations. We will also take into account the safety concerns and well-being of our traveling staff as we consider travel to international locations. Our goal is to be as flexible as possible to make sure that customers are supported. This may mean that we provide services virtually, or that we organize equipment exchanges to ensure that instrument stays in good working order. If you have any questions on how this impacts you, then please reach out to our Client Services Team at basi@basinc.com for assistance.

We're grateful for you

During this challenging period, we would like to reassure you that BASi remains open for business and committed to business continuity and helping you achieve your research goals. Please also know that we are prioritizing the safety and well-being of our employees and we are also taking steps to minimize impact to our clients’ health and safety.

We thank you so much for your business and for your understanding as we navigate this new challenge.
