The AChE Enzyme Modified Bio-Sensor

Amperometric Acetylcholinesterase three-electrode sensor with patented structure made by thick film technology

Description: Acetylcholinesterase from electric eel type VI-S is immobilized on the active surface of a working electrode of electrochemical sensor SP-1211-AC (i.e. Platinum working electrode, silver reference electrode). The diameter of the immobilized bioactive membrane is 2 mm and the mean applied activity is 1 unit/mm2. This screen printed amperometric sensor has three electrodes and is formed on a corundum base. It is 2.54 cm long, 0.73 cm wide, 0.63 mm thick, and weights 0.5 grams. The diameter of the platinum working electrode area is 1.00 mm. There is a silver electrical contact at the end of each sensor and this conductive path is covered by a dielectric protection layer. A biochemically active enzyme is immobilized on the surface of the working electrode area to create the biosensor. They can be ordered in multiples of 20 sensors. The PALM-SPEHOLDER-2MM is an appropriate adapter for these sensors.

Application Areas: Measurement of AChE inhibitor concentration – organophosphorous and carbamate pesticide (paraoxon, malaoxon) analysis, toxic and neurotoxic gases (sarin, soman, tabun, VX) research, heavy metals (copper, aluminum) detection, drugs (donepezil, rivastigmin, huperzine) analysis and secondary metabolites and natural toxins (caffeine, aflatoxin) research.

BVT-TC7: Electrochemical Glass Cell with Manual Stirrer and Multiple Options

The TC7 is a low cost Glass Cell that is ideal for students and basic lab measurements. The TC7 comes with a stand, specially designed for it, and the stand provides more stability and ease of use. It contains:

   - A central opening (NJ 12/14 for stirrer)
   - Four side openings (NJ 10/13 for connectors or classic electrodes).
   - The three dimensional stand provides more stability.

These openings can be used to mount working, reference and counter electrodes as well as other accessories. This simple glass cell is used for electrochemical measurements. The minimum volume of a sample solution inside the cell is 5 mL.
