Note: The accuracy of delivery over a given time period depends heavily on the syringe size. For microdialysis, always use the smallest possible syringe. This choice must be balanced against the total time planned for the experiment and the desired flow rate. A 500 µL syringe provides better accuracy than a 2.5 mL syringe at any given flow rate. Try to keep a variety of syringes on hand and use the smallest size possible. Using the BASi UniSwitch can extend the duration of a perfusion indefinitely.
