Scientist

Bioanalytical Systems is seeking a Scientist with the following duties: develop, document, and validate analytical methods through the use of advanced analytical instrumentation including but not limited to UV-Vis, HPLC, and IC technologies; prepare and execute validation protocols to support GLP studies; coordinate all internal aspects of the study; oversee department revenue forecasting and billing, as well as chemist and technician staff; execute and troubleshoot complex technical activities for existing or new methods; train other laboratory staff as necessary; perform project management activities including project coordination, study design, client communication, data interpretation, preparation of final reports, and protocols; develop and optimize UV-Vis and IC methods utilizing manual and automated spectrophotometers, Dionex DX-100 and ICS-2100 instrumentation equipped with ChromPerfect and Chromeleon CDS software; develop business and client relationships through client visits and face-to-face meetings with key decision makers to review project requirements and assess client needs and goals; represent the laboratory during sponsor and EPA regulatory inspections, providing laboratory tours and technical input on issues that may arise during the audit; direct operations of a department in a regulated laboratory including responsibility for recruiting, developing and managing performance of analysts.

 

Master’s degree in Chemistry or related field or foreign academic equivalent and 3 years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field or foreign academic equivalent and 5 years of related experience.  Prior experience must include: develop and optimize UV-Vis and IC methods utilizing manual and automated spectrophotometers, Dionex DX-100 and ICS-2100 instrumentation equipped with ChromPerfect and Chromeleon CDS software (3 yrs); develop business and client relationships through client visits and face-to-face meetings with key decision makers to review project requirements and assess client needs and goals (3 yrs); represent the laboratory during sponsor and EPA regulatory inspections, providing laboratory tours and technical input on issues that may arise during the audit (3 yrs); direct operations of a department in a regulated laboratory including responsibility for recruiting, developing and managing performance of analysts (3 yrs).
