Sample Inventory Generalist

The Sample Inventory Generalist is responsible for assuring that all study samples and reference standards are accounted for and in proper condition when received at BASi or delivered to one of our clients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for receiving, processing, maintaining, and return/disposal of biological samples and reference standards for BASi
• Maintain accurate inventory records of all samples and standards for current projects
• Document receipt/delivery of samples and reference standards according to cGMP, cGLP, cGCP, etc.
• Communicate with clients, the Principal Investigators and other departments on a daily basis
• Responsible for domestic and international shipment of biological materials via various means of transportation
• Maintain confidential information
• Interact with and assist other employees needing access to samples
• Support and participate in other company initiatives as directed by senior management
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• Associates level degree or higher preferred
• Inventory control experience is beneficial
• This is an entry level position

Skills & Abilities

• Good organizational skills
• Ability to use a computer to compile and maintain databases for records and inventory utilizing the appropriate software
• Ability to follow written instructions and work with a minimum of supervision
• Ability to focus on several tasks at once while also handling interruptions well
• Ability to learn, understand and adhere to applicable national and state regulations
• Working knowledge of and ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to adhere to all safety regulations and procedures
• Able to wear latex or nitrile gloves, dust mask or respirator, and safety glasses as required
• DOT and IATA training for receiving, handling, and shipping hazardous materials (training provided)
