Dr. Walter E. Weirich

Dr. Weirich is the author of over 30 major publications in veterinary medicine, focusing on small animal cardiology, and has
contributed to several textbooks and reference works. He is a past President of the Academy of Veterinary Cardiology. Both as
Head of the Small Animal Clinics at Purdue for over twelve years and through numerous technical presentations and workshops,
he has contributed greatly to improved veterinary education and practice. He received his D.V.M. from Michigan State
University and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. In 1978, he was named diplomate of the American College of
Veterinary Surgeons. He has served as President of the American Association of Veterinary Clinicians, President of the
Association of Veterinary Medical Data Program Participants, President of the West Central Indiana Veterinary Medical
Association, and President of the National Society of Phi Zeta.
Dr. Clare D. McGillem

Dr. McGillem, deceased, was an expert in communications, radar and signal processing. He was the co-author of a number of
widely used textbooks on signal and system theory and communications, and had more than 150 publications in the areas of
biological signal processing, image processing and communications. He held a number of patents in various fields of
instrumentation. He received the B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Michigan and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue
University. He was a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a past President of the IEEE Geoscience
and Remote Sensing Society, and recipient of the IEEE Centennial Medal, the J. Fred Peoples Award, and the Navy Meritorious
Civilian Service Award.
Dr. Jorge I. Aunon

Dr. Aunon has conducted extensive basic research and has published over 50 papers in biomedical engineering, concentrating
on the recognition and analysis of natural and induced bioelectrical signals. He has been invited to serve as visiting
scientist and lecturer at various U.S. and foreign universities, and consults extensively to private industry and to health and
defense related governmental agencies. The recipient of the B.S.E.E., M.S.E.E., and Sc.D. degrees, from George Washington
University, he is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, for which he has edited several
biomedical publications, a member of the Society for Psychophysiological Research, and a Registered Professional Engineer,
Texas.
