New Developments
DBS on Culex®
BASi recognizes the increasing role that Dried Blood Spot sampling is playing in drug development. Dried Blood Spots (DBS) are recognized as a useful way to collect, store and ship blood samples for drug analysis. BASi has long emphasized the importance of reducing animal numbers and refining data, and we are continuing this tradition as we move forward with utilizing DBS technologies. View the video to see how the DBS collection has been integrated into the Culex so that you can collect either DBS or normal vial samples depending on your needs. To find out more, contact us.

Automated In Vivo Sampling: Innovative Technology to Significantly Advance Pre-Clinical Studies
A significant advantage to automating the sampling process with instrumentation is the measurable reduction in stress experienced by the animals. Stresses caused by handling, restraining and needle puncture affect activity and hormone levels, which alter how drugs are metabolized. Learn how to significantly improve your preclinical studies with automated in vivo sampling.

BASi is proud of our collaboration with DSI to develop an antenna for use with the Culex system. This device makes it possible for scientists to conduct multi-parameter sampling in individual animals. An integrated pharmacology approach can reduce animal use and provide you with better, more meaningful data. To find out more about this new product, see Candace Rohde Johnson at the BASi booth (#123) or feel free to visit representatives at the Data Sciences International booth (#106).
American Association for Laboratory Animal Science

October 2-6
Booth 1335
Visit us in booth 1335 to find out about our exciting developments for integrating Dried Blood Spot Sampling with the Culex®. We will have both large and small animal versions of our Culex family of sampling instruments on display, as well as our friendly and knowledgeable staff to help answer your questions.
We will be presenting a poster (no. p72) titled, "Refinement of blood collection techniques to permit automated and low-stress sampling from canines".
BASi will also be featuring our Vetronics line of products for diagnostic and surgical monitoring.
