Culex User's Forum

Long-time Culex users know that BASi used to maintain a Culex User's Forum. This Forum provided an opportunity for all Culex users to discuss problems, questions, and solutions related to use of the system. We are pleased to announce that the Forum is back, and with your help it can be better than ever.

The Forum is open to current users only, and requires a user name and password to enter. If you did not receive your password, or if you would like to have your lab colleagues added to the Forum, contact us via email to request access.

This Forum provides a safe and convenient place to share information on best practices, but it will need you and your ideas to keep it relevant. We look forward to working with you to develop the forum into a helpful tool for your Culex studies.

New Culex Website

In an effort to bring all of the BASi products to one central location, we have incorporated the Culex.net website into the BASi site (www.BASInc.com ). In the process, the Culex website has received a facelift. We hope you will find the new Culex website easier than ever to navigate. If you have any suggestions about how to make it better, we'd love to hear them. Please let us know by sending a note via email.

New Lease-to-Own Program

As we all know, the economy is tough; the capital expenditure cuts are even tougher. The Culex team is excited to offer a lease-to-own option for all of our Culex equipment. Take advantage of the flexible payment schedule to bring the advantages of automation into your lab. For more information about the new lease-to-own program, contact us via email.

Automated Bile Sampling from Rats via Culex

Bile is one of the most important routes for excretion of drug and drug metabolites, but traditional collection methods seriously compromise the health of the animal and the quality of your data. The BASi automated approach to bile collection using Culex and Empis will help overcome these difficulties. Use our system to:

  • Collect bile continuously or at programmed intervals
  • Recirculate the animal's own bile between collections
  • Automatically infuse replacement bile salts during collections
  • Maintain samples at 4°C
  • Keep everything contained with easy-to-clean sampling lines
  • Extend sample collection from healthy animals (up to several weeks)
  • Use the Culex to collect blood simultaneously
