Lease-to-Own

As we all know, the economy is tough; the capital expenditure cuts are even tougher. The Culex team is excited to offer a lease-to-own option for all of our Culex equipment. Take advantage of the flexible payment schedule to bring the advantages of automation into your lab. A variety of plans are available to suit your needs. Contact us at via email for more information.

New Sterility Indicator

A change has been made to all of our Culex catheters. We have removed the small glass bead from catheter packaging and replaced it with a sticker indicator. Surgical Technicians will be happy to hear they won't have to spend any more time chasing beads around with a broom and dustpan. The sticker turns from a dull orange to a bright red after undergoing e-beam sterilization. Please let us know if you have any further questions about the sterility indicator, and we'll be happy to answer them.

Automated Bile Sampling from Rats Using Culex

Bile is one of the most important routes for excretion of drug and drug metabolites, but traditional collection methods seriously compromise the health of the animal and quality of the data. A new automated approach to bile collection using the Culex and Empis will help overcome these difficulties. Use our system to:

  • Collect bile continuously or at programmed intervals
  • Re-circulate the animal's own bile between collections
  • Automatically infuse replacement bile salts during collections
  • Maintain samples at 4°C
  • Keep everything contained with easy-to-clean sampling lines
  • Extended sample collection from healthy animals (up to several weeks)
  • Use the Culex to collect blood simultaneousl

PAUSE and STAT

While the Pause and Stat options have been available for some time, we are so excited about it that we wanted to send out a reminder.

  • Pause and Stat options are standard on all new Culex units being sold, are upgraded automatically for all existing service agreement customers, or can be sold as an add-on for existing carts.
  • The Pause innovation allows the technician to pause at any point and then at any time resume exactly where he or she left off.
  • The Stat option allows one blood collection every time the technician pushes a button - at any point before, during or after a method. It can be used to take pre-dose samples, to try again for missed samples and to add a sample at the end of a study.
